happy holidays

My anger has now dissolved. I no longer want to kill anyone, which I think is a positive step. It may have been the venting, the fact that time has passed, or possibly the fact that today was the last day of school, but I'm now in a much better mood, and will try to hang onto it for as long as I can!

I hope that everyone has a fantastic Christmas, and a happy New Year! Here's to a rage-free, fun-filled 2006!!

one more week....

*till Christmas!

*to decorate the tree!

*to shop.

*to watch my two favourite Christmas movies over and over again!

*of teaching before an exciting two-week break!

*till I leave on a jet plane!

*to lose the pre-holiday weight to allow for the annual holiday gain.

I'd better make the most of this week!!

lost

Well, it's happened. I've lost almost all of my voice. It's not completely gone - I have a bit of an "old man/braying donkey" thing going, but basically, I can't talk. I took the afternoon off today on the advice of my students. I guess they got sick of all the busy work they were getting (so that I could avoid talking). So now I'm resting up and hoping that I find my voice by tomorrow. Is there anything that I can do to speed up the healing process?

vodka and pasta - together at last!

Another fantastic weekend full of alcohol and Kraft Dinner. For those of you that have never experienced this joy, try it next Saturday. You go to a friend's house, start drinking there, then go out to a club together, continue drinking there, then stumble back to her house at 3 a.m. and make pasta for the two of you, plus anyone else she's decided to bring back with her. If desired, start drinking again when you finish eating.

Warning: Do not attempt if you have anything important to accomplish the next day!

gone!

Last night I dreamed about chocolate twinkies. It was awesome.

...fading...

Today I let someone in front of me while I was in line at the bank. She didn't ask or anything, but I felt like being nice, and it seemed to make her happy, which I liked. Then, less than 20 minutes later, I was heading toward the cashier in Dominion with only three items. There was a guy in front of me with a full cart. He saw me get in line behind him, and he said, "Oh, you go ahead," and insisted I cut in line.

Sweet. This time of year rocks.
