New Malanka
Last night was Ukranian New Year's. I've never celebrated it before, so I didn't know what to expect. (It's probably better that way. No expectations mean no disappointments!) It turned out to be one of the best times ever! It was at a convention hall about 25 minutes from my place that I never knew existed, and there were over 300 people there.
There were a couple of performances from a dance group that was there. (Shocker: I found out that a lot of the Riverdance moves come from Ukranian dancing, not Irish dancing!! Thievery is everywhere!) After a couple of drinks, I tried to do some Ukranian dancing myself. While I wasn't successful, I think I deserve a bit of credit for not breaking my ankle during my attempt at a Cossack dance!
We all ended up eating (there were five courses plus a buffet later in the night, and we ordered pizza at 2:30 in the morning!) and drinking (ukranian vodka kicks ass!) WAY too much, and not getting nearly enough sleep. (2 hours just doesn't cut it...)
In other words, a good time was had by all! Can't wait to go again next year!

So Fun. I would have broken the ankle for sure. All that food drink and dancing... what a great night.
How can you go wrong with moves from Riverdance.
