Bernice (warning - kinda sad)

None of us saw this coming. We all knew she was older, but to us, she just seemed to be invincible, like nothing would ever stop her. The fighter’s spirit and determination made it seem like she would live forever.

She had the kindest heart. I guess we all just thought a heart like that would never stop beating.

Softball will be different, but hopefully she's taught the team something about attitude and perseverance. Maybe next year it will be like playing with a whole field of Bernices, rather than just one. :)
